North Fork Yachats Bridge

North Fork Yachats Bridge is a 42-foot Howe truss covered bridge spanning the North Fork of the Yachats River in Lincoln County, Oregon. Built in 1938, it is one of the smallest covered bridges in the state and one of only a handful located in the Oregon Coast Range.

The bridge carries North Fork Road through a lush temperate rainforest setting — mossy boulders, overhanging alders, and the sound of the river defining its character. The compact structure is perfectly proportioned for its narrow coastal stream crossing.

North Fork Yachats Bridge was built in 1938 to serve the rural homesteads and timber operations in the North Fork drainage east of Yachats. Its compact span reflects the narrow width of the stream at this crossing, with the covered enclosure providing essential protection against the heavy coastal rainfall.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003, it is one of a small number of Oregon's coastal covered bridges that have survived the heavy precipitation and periodic flooding characteristic of the Coast Range.
